I called and they were able to come out the same day. The problem was diagnosed right away. He asked if I had another fridge I could put the food in so the fridge could defrost overnight. I said I did not but knew people who had room and coolers I could use. He said to not do that. They would come the next day with equipment that could defrost the fridge quickly. They came at the time they said they would both days. They were professional and considerate of my time.

Lighting installation in Tampa Bay covers a lot of ground: recessed LED cans, ceiling fans, outdoor security fixtures, under-cabinet lighting, landscape lighting, and replacing fixture boxes that aren't rated for the weight of a fan. The scope determines whether a permit is required.

Replacing an existing fixture in the same location with the same type doesn't require a permit. Adding a new fixture where there wasn't one, adding a new circuit, or installing outdoor lighting on a new circuit does. We tell you which category your job falls into before we start.

Recessed LED cans replace outdated fluorescent fixtures and add real light where a single ceiling fixture didn't reach. A typical room needs one 4-inch or 6-inch can per 4–6 square feet of ceiling area. We measure and recommend a layout — you don't need to guess.

Ceiling fan installation requires a fan-rated junction box. The standard light fixture box isn't rated for the weight or the torque of a ceiling fan. If you've ever watched a ceiling fan wobble badly in its first year, a fan not properly mounted on a rated box is often the reason. We replace the box when we install the fan.

Most lighting jobs don't require running new circuits. When they do, we tell you upfront and pull the permit. The $89 diagnostic applies toward the job.

When You Need It /

Signs You Need Lighting Installation

You Want Recessed Lighting Where There Isn't Any

New recessed lights in a room with an existing circuit are usually straightforward — no new circuit, just extended wiring. We map the layout, confirm the existing circuit has capacity, and install.

You're Installing a Ceiling Fan Where There's Just a Light

If the existing junction box isn't fan-rated, we replace it. This is a thirty-minute step that prevents wobbling and long-term failure at the mount.

Your Outdoor Lights Need to Go on a New Circuit

Adding a new outdoor circuit requires a permit. We pull it, run the circuit from the panel, and install weatherproof fixtures and boxes rated for outdoor use.

You Have Under-Cabinet Lighting That Needs Hardwiring

Plug-in under-cabinet lights leave cords visible. Hardwired units run from a switch at the wall. We wire directly from a nearby circuit when capacity allows.

You're Replacing a Long Fluorescent Strip in the Kitchen

The old 48-inch fluorescent strip mount doesn't fit modern LED fixtures. We update the box, run the correct wiring, and install the new fixture right the first time.

FAQ /

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install a ceiling fan where there's only a light fixture?

Yes, but the existing junction box needs to be replaced with one rated for ceiling fans. We handle both in one visit.

How many recessed lights do I need per room?

One 4-inch or 6-inch can per 4–6 square feet of ceiling area is the general rule. We measure the room and recommend a layout during the quote.

Do outdoor lights need a permit in Florida?

Replacing an existing fixture doesn't require a permit. Adding a new fixture or circuit where one didn't exist before typically does. We handle the permit when required.

Can I use a dimmer on LED recessed lights?

Only with dimmable LED bulbs or fixtures and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all dimmers work with all LEDs — some flicker at low settings. We match the dimmer to the fixture when installing.
